More competitive team information:
country. Cheerleading is now viewed with a high degree of athleticism. With
the increasing competitiveness in the cheerleading world, the all-star
program is a valuable tool for molding and preparing cheerleaders for future
endeavors.
The staff's mission is to offer the ultimate competitive cheerleading experience! We will offer the best technical training and most innovative choreography possible. This type of training requires attendance and safe, structured workouts. Focusing on teamwork, team members learn how to encourage one another while building their own confidence.
Commitment:
Different teams require different levels of commitment. Whether you are on a
team that practices 3 hours a week or one that has 6 hours of practice, you
will be required to give 100% of your heart and dedication. Powers Unite the Fury All-stars is a year long commitment or ½ year commitment for those teams. Cheerleading is a TEAM sport and everyone is needed to make the routine run smoothly and successfully. All practices and competitions are MANDATORY.
Financial Obligation:
All Star Cheering requires emotional, physical and financial commitments.
Powers Unite The Fury offers many fundraising opportunities that will enable you to
defray your cheering expenses.
Competitions:
Mandatory Competitions typically begin in December or January with some performances before/after. The schedule varies per team. There usually is at least 1 competition during a school vacation. All events and competitions are mandatory. All competitions are held on the weekend. Travel teams may participate in competitions requiring overnight stays. All athletes are expected to stay with their team at all times and to the conclusion of an event regardless of when their team competes. Coaches will dismiss athletes when that time comes.
Team selection:
Teams are selected by age and skill. Starting in June we have practices by age and ability to evaluate the athletes for full year teams. Registration and evaluations for ½ year teams begin October.
Practice commitment:
Practices are mandatory. Cheering is a competitive TEAM sport and it is, not only, a safety issue but one of commitment and team unity. Parent notification to a coach or staff member is required for missing practice for an emergency or illness.
Parents in the gym:
Only cheerleaders and coaches are allowed in the gym. This is to encourage and promote the attention levels of the cheerleaders. We would like to keep distractions to a minimum so the cheerleaders will remained focused, productive and safe! In addition, it is an insurance risk to have any non-participants in the gym.
